“I first heard of K7 at the end of 2004, when I joined Kamnik's alpine club. Marko Prezelj was climbing in Charakusa that year and among other climbs he also tried on K7 West. His enthusiasm for climbing in Charakusa valley was contagious. At that time I was a climbing intern, things were quite abstract to me so I imagined K7 as a kind of modern mountaineering ideal. I thought to myself: It must be, if this is the place were Marko is climbing... K7 remained in my subconscious. Through years of my engaging in alpinism the idea was becoming more and more possible and imaginable. I had to try it for myself. This is my story...”
