We have had this category for 7 years now. We are not hiding our admiration for the rich work done by the Macedonian Ecological Society and we are not hiding our happiness that they continue to be our partner in many different program activities at the festival - including the competition segment too, where their members are part of the jury.

Danka Uzunova has been interested in nature and all its living creatures since childhood, which later led her to pursue ecology and study of birds professionally. Working with the Macedonian Ecological Society for over 15 years, she is continually contributing to the development of ornithology (the scientific branch studying birds) in Macedonia.

Aleksandar Pavlov is part of MES’s mammal research team, where he actively works on the research and conservation of the Balkan lynx and brown bear. As a field biologist and mammalogist, he has been studying mammals and their ecology for several years, turning his passion for wildlife and nature into hands-on fieldwork and scientific research.

Arta Starova is a sociologist working at the intersection of society and ecology. Her work centers on tackling the illegal killing of birds and supporting the conservation of vultures and the Balkan lynx, with a particular interest in multidisciplinary approaches and collaboration across fields.

Andrijana Papikj Mancheva is a French and English translator with extensive experience in communications. She has been part of the "MakeDox" Creative Documentary Film Festival since its beginning. Low-waste living and ecofeminism are among her favorite topics of conversation, while intersectionality has become the prism through which she strives to observe and relearn

about the world.
