Lecture: "The National Mountain Museum of Turin and its historical film archive" - Marco Ribetti, Italy

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Museum, our respected friend Marco Ribetti will make a presentation about the idea of its establishment in 1874 and its development until today - with a special emphasis on the description of the archive of historical films of the museum, during which we will be able to have a look at short sequences from some of the most important films that are preserved in this archive.

Marco Ribetti is the Deputy Director of the National Mountain Museum in Turin and curator of its historical film archive - during the past more than 20 years, he has participated in the installation of hundreds of temporary exhibitions dedicated to every aspect of mountains, mountaineering and research.

At the same time, Marko takes care of the cataloging and management of the films in this archive, collaborates with magazines dedicated to the mountains and alpinism, writes about cinemas and films in the Alps and other mountains in the world...
He is also the coordinator of the International Alliance for Mountain Film - an alliance that unites several mountain festivals in the world, dedicated to the preservation and promotion of mountain film, including our Echo Mountain Film Festival.

Marco Ribetti will be a guest of Echo with this wonderful and very interesting presentation, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Italy.
