Dariusz Zaluski is a Polish mountaineer who through the Polish Tatras and some higher mountains in the world (first ascents of Hangshu in the Himalayas and Borondo Shar in the Karakoram), builds his experience in the highest as well, climbing Gasherbrum 2, Cho Oyu, Lotse, Everest (twice) and K2, and then took part in the winter Polish Himalayan expeditions of Nanga Parbat, Makalu and K2.

In 1997, during the last expedition led by the legendary Andrzej Zawada, on Nanga Parbat, Darius begins to film and document and enters a new adventure – the documentary film.

Thus, through this presentation, he will tell us how his passion for the mountains leads him to a new passion - the film, and through excerpts from some of his films and photos (mostly from the summer and winter expedition of K2), he will present to us this process.

Darius has participated in the making of more than 15 mountain films, as director of photography, screenwriter or director. Through them, he has been present at several festivals, including Echo, and he has received awards at several of them - Vancouver, Moscow, Sliven, Trento, Krakow...

By the International Association of Mountain Film Festivals, in 2021 Darius received the main prize - the Grand Prix, which is awarded every year as a recognition and award for life's work.
