Regional panel discussion, about success stories and battles of activists for the preservation of the environment More and more often we witness that the economic benefit puts pressure on natural resources, and that in close proximity to populated areas. The development of these projects is a threat not only to animals but also to people and their health. With this panel we want to give space to some of the loudest and most enduring in the battle to preserve nature. Fortunately, there are also positive results such as the declaration of the only water park on the Vjosa River, but there are also battles that are not finished and are a threat to the local population and nature.

We presented three stories, three battles for the preservation of nature:

The association Naturalab from Labunishta, Strushko - for the past 6 years has been advocating for the closure of quarries in the immediate vicinity of the village.

Healthy valley - they are trying not to allow the opening of the Ilovica-Stuka mine in the heart of the most fertile valley in Macedonia - Strumica.

PPNEA (Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania) from Albania continues the battle against the construction of an airport in Vjosa Narta where hundreds of birds feed during their migration route.
