Grand Prix: "To the Hills & Back" Mike Quigley, Canada
The main jury of Echo decided on several categories this year. Among them: best feature film, best climbing film, best mountaineering film, best culture & nature film and the Grand Prix.
The decisions were read by Ivo Baru - a member of the jury, who said of the Grand Prix-winning film, "To the Hills & Back":
Warm and emotional, the film deals with the dangers and possible losses of practicing winter sports. The specific examples are heartbreaking, but it is probably an effective way to send a message that a person on the mountain, especially in winter, should be constantly "on the alert".
Congratulations!
